The POWERMINDER allows your diesel generator to run high loads like washing machines, tumble driers, etc., and to charge the battery store at the same time. When the high load stops, the diesel stops and 'baseload' requirments such as lights, TV, fridge, freezer, central heating pump, etc., continues to be run by the POWERMINDER. This gives a 24-hour continuous power supply without the need to run the diesel for long periods.

The POWERMINDER will run your diesel for 2 reasons:

1) When the load is too high for the inverter. Then the diesel will run to supply the high load and charge the battery store at the same time. A typical property will use the diesel for 2 to 4 hours a day on high loads.

2) When the battery store is low the diesel will run until the store is well charged, typically 3-6 hours, every 2 days.

On a daily basis the number of hours the diesel runs will depend on your electricity consumption.

The key point is that whenever the diesel runs it will be properly loaded and so will perform better. Each drop of diesel is used more efficiently.

Maintenance

There is virtually none except to keep an eye on the liquid level in the battery store, just like a car battery
